"No you haven't, you've had seven!"
"Noo ... I can't have had seven."
"You have, I promise you."
"But I can't have!"
"Why not?"
"Because my legs always give out after I've had five!"
"Your legs have given out!"
"No?!"
"Yes!"
"Oh ... that'll be it then."
"What'll be it?"
"Why you suddenly got taller than me about half an hour ago!"

Autumn ... Saturday Centus

It feels like ages since I've posted, so I thought I'd join in with
Jenny Matlocks Saturday Centus shake up this week.
Use 32 words including the line "In the autumn"
to write 'lyrics' to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!

Well here goes ... clear your throat and prepare to sing  :o)

Confetti gold, jewelled lanes
In the autumn summer wanes.
Scarlet skies as evenings call
prepared for winter, bronzes fall.
Beds and blankets, nests to sleep
warm inside as winter creeps.

Before I Die ... Saturday Centus # 64

Umm ... this was the first thing that popped into my head

... better clear the beaches!

Before I die

I want to run

Naked into a turquoise sea

Sun kissing my skin

Glorious

Unashamed

Joyful

ALIVE!

Week 64 of Saturday Centus this weeks prompt is to use just 15 words (not including the prompt) using the line "... Before I die I want to ..."

A Good Walk - Saturday Centus # 28

Week 28 of Saturday Centus this weeks prompt is to use up to 100 words (not including the prompt) using the line ...."The early November sunshine cast golden rays..."

The early November sunshine cast golden rays that flooded the room, showing every bit of dust on every surface.

Annie smiled to herself and grabbed the lead.

"Come on, Lady."

Lady scampered to her side, tail wagging.

They headed off, breathing in the wonderful crispness of the air and spent an hour together in the glorious morning sun.

As they neared home the sky turned grey and clouded over.

Once inside, Annie looked again around the room ... the dust was gone.

She bent down to give Lady a stroke, and smiled.

"A good walk sorts everything out, doesn't it, girl."

Trick or Treat - Saturday Centus # 24

Week 24 of Saturday Centus this weeks prompt is to use up to 100 words (not including the prompt) using the line .....   "Trick or treat!" they shouted as the door opened"

"Trick or treat!" they shouted as the door opened.

The man stood towering above the little witches and goblins and started slowly to hunch his back whilst contorting his face, he then rolled his eyes and let out a blood curdling scream.

The little witches and goblins mouths dropped open as they stood momentarily rooted to the spot with fear. Then very slowly they edged their way back from the door and out through the garden gate .... then turned and ran as fast as they could, little green legs and capes flying in the air.

The man straightened up, stopped screaming and went back inside.

"What on earth was all that screaming about, George?"

"Oh, nothing ... just making sure that they were the last trick or treaters to come to our door this Halloween."

"And you're dangerous and shouldn't be allowed near a tack, let alone a hammer."
"Right that's it, I'm not doing it!"
"Thank goodness."
"What am I supposed to do now, then?"
"Well, you could mow the garden."
"With the new lawn mower?"
"Of course."
"Yes!"

The Pumpkins - Saturday Centus # 22

Week 22 of Saturday Centus this weeks prompt is to use up to 100 words using the picture as a prompt.

It was an alien invasion. She just knew there were creatures in them waiting to take over our bodies and eat our brains.
She could see little orange legs appear ready to chase her.
She'd have to tell mum and dad, they had to get away while they still could. She ran from the field, not stopping until she was home.
Bursting into the kitchen, her eyes wild, she shouted.

"Run for your lives, the pumpkins are coming!"

Her dad looked at her mum.

"Kate, I think we need to have a chat about Halloween this year."
