Spinning - Magpie Tales # 35

Magpie Tales  hosts a weekly writing prompt, write a small vignette or poem using the photo below as your inspiration.

I stood
face skyward
arms outstretched
and bubbled with joy
as the wind joined the trees
and rained down confetti in
unending streams of amber and gold
and I swirled and twirled among them
  spinning round and around
swept up, lifted, jubilant
in child like wonder
belonging only
to this moment
and bursting
with sheer
delight.

Autumn brings out the child in me too. Great magpie.

I do like the shape. Is "child like" not actually one word?

Ah, yes, I like the notion of Nature's confetti!

I have twirled and swirled and fallen and frolicked in the autumn leaves ... you described the sensations perfectly.

Love this... I feel like the shape of the poem is a dance in and of itself, the words are the musical accompaniment.

(And thank you, for commenting on my magpie as well!)

Wonderful imagery. It reminded me of the first time I remember being a kid and jumping into a big pile of freshly rakes leaves. The joy!

Sheer delight, that goes for the poem as well!

I think everyone would have this as a childhood memory but I reckon it would be wonderful to go do it as an adult..To just go be in the moment & frolic in the leaves. Will have to add that to my "to do list" next to jumping in puddles & dancing in the rain!! This was a delightful read..thank you!

Oh, this was delicious. I took a walk today and this captures how I felt: "rained down confetti in unending streams of amber and gold..."

Beautiful! Thanks, Mag!

Very nice! It captures what I feel when I see Autumn arrive. The colors; the wind; the chill in the air. Very nice Magpie!

I see it's been mentioned before in the comments, but I cannot comment without commenting on the leaf shape of your poem!

What a delight, love it when the structure of a poem illuminates the subject, as your did so well.
