Ted and Flo - Monday's Child # 21

Monday's Child prompt for children's poetry or verse

The pie was baked and ready to eat
full of pumpkins, a wonderful treat.
Flo brought it out as proud as punch
to share with Ted for Thanksgiving lunch.
Ted was a turkey like no other
and she loved him dear, just like a mother.
They gave thanks together for all they had
and prayed for others whose lives were bad.
Ted was twenty nine if he was a day
the oldest turkey in the USA!
He'd watched thanksgivings come and go
eating pumpkin pie with his dear friend Flo.
