My Mum's lovely dog Tamba is now 15, and although she is remarkably well for her age we have long suspected her eyes are not what they used to be.
This was recently confirmed on one of her daily walks.
Now, whenever Tamba sees another dog on a lead she will always have a little bark at it before saying hello.
And? I hear you ask.
Well on this particular walk when she started up her barking ready to meet a prospective new friend, my Mum couldn't see a dog anywhere.
But Tamba was insistent and headed enthusiastically toward a shopping trolley a lady was pulling behind her with her tail wagging ready to say hello.
Needless to say, this particular new friend didn't say hello back.
Bless her :o)

Oh I so know what you are talking about! I have the same problem with my older dog! However mine will start barking in the house while looking out the window for no reason which sets off the other two dogs :o(
What? No picture to go with this tale? Poor Tamba must have been embarrassed when she realized her error.
Aah yes, the barking for no reason whilst mustering up a posse LOL ... I know that one Mamma :o) x
I wish I did have a picture Linda, bless her :o) x
Dog glasses are called Doggles but I think they're really goggles rather than specs. Poor Tamba - she must have been upset not to have her friendly greeting reciprocated. I suppose when she was close enough she could smell it wasn't a dog:-)
'Doggles' I do like that :o) thanks for stopping by Jabblog x
Awwww :D bless her is right.
Hopefully a few new friends turn out to be dogs :D
:o) Thanks TGL xxx
Awww! Such a cute story! Well good for pup for always trying to make new friends, no matter the 'species'. Ha!
Happy Saturday!
xo Catherine
:o) Thanks Catherine ... and Happy Saturday to you too x
Lol! Too sweet. Old dogs develop charm and quirks that are so endearing. Made me think of my old dog from a few years ago. :)
It is endearing Elizabeth, I could watch dogs all day :o) x
Oh, my Lord! That's funny!
I love love love dogs...
:o) Me too! Thanks for stopping by Janie x
It would make sense that a dog's eyes start to fade after a while. But, if it took your dog until 15 (which is-what?-105 to you and me), she's doing pretty good. I needed glasses at 10.
And started peeing in the living room uncontrollably at 50.
I've always tried to lick myself, though. But, I draw the line at sniffing butts.
Awwww, bless her. I knew my cat's eyesight was going when he used to 'miss' jumping up on the sofa and chairs......
What a cute story. Tamba sounds gorgeous. Adorable story!
You do make me laugh Al 'and started peeing in the living room uncontrollably at 50' ... LOL Thanks for stopping by x

Been there and done that.
Poor Scampy Dog was chasin' a car on the dirt road and rain smack into the bails of hay hubs had stacked to load. She was a good dog...passed years ago. {{{SIGH}}}
Have a blessed week sweetie!!! :o)
I wanted to comment, but I went and did it again.

Damn! I have been taking my dog out for years hoping to meet a shopping trolley and all I get are gorgeous young divorcees who own a pub!
Sorry, but there is no way I can ignore Jabblog and her doggles. Does that mean tattles are glasses for rats? I will not be back you will be relieved to know!
lol ... Thanks for stopping by Stafford :o) x
Oh, so sad when they lose their sight. Our male Old English Sheepdog went totally blind at 10, and dozens of other major problems followed in quick order. It was a devastating day when we had him put to sleep. We were right there with him, with our arms around him, but we could not look into his eyes to give him loving and assuring expressions. :(
It really is heart breaking Lydia, but at least you were there holding him xxx
