Dogs, Comments and Birds .... I Saw Sunday - Week 21

I Saw Sunday where you can join in with pictures, thoughts, observations, anything you like!

Here's mine ...

Three Jack Russell's on their walk all doing that thing they do with their back legs as they walk ... step, step, hop ... step, step, hop ... it makes me smile every time.

and

I've been reading around blogs and beside the wonderful writing, I just can't help being impressed with some peoples commenting ability.
They can add insight, humour and an obvious total understanding of the piece all in one line ... whereas I sit there for 'ages' writing, deleting and writing again and end up with ... Brilliant!
I feel like a child sitting cross legged thrusting my arm in the air saying, I get it too! That's exactly what I thought!
... I may just start sneaking 'ditto' underneath   :o)

and lastly

It's been very windy these past couple of days and on one of my walks with Grace around the field I saw a pheasant running with the wind behind it.
I couldn't help but stop and watch its little legs going like the clappers.
I felt like shouting, "Go little pheasant Go!"
You had to be there, but I'm telling you  .... that was one impressively fast bird.

Yeah, what is it with Jack Russells and that walk!? LOL

I can just see the pheasant running you describe it so well. And I know what you mean about comments, I often get tongue tied too. :-)

We had JRs for some years and the hoppity-skip of their locomotion always amused me, too.
As for insightful comments, I think I might join you in the 'ditto' ranks;-)

Hi Deborah,

I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for commenting on my blog.

It's always good to meet and connect with other writers.

And what can I say about Jack Russells? lol

Love the image of the dogs, they do seem to be making a statement of some sort, but I need a translater. I'm with you, can never keep it to just one sentence on the comments. Are you sure that wasn't a road runner instead of a pheasant. That's the first thing that popped into my mind, have no idea why other than your description. It made me smile,

I don't think I have seen a Jack Russell walk as you have described. I'll have to pay closer attention next time I see one. I saw a dog walking today that looked like it's daddy was a Bassett and it's mommy was a Dashound. I had to giggle at his big head and happy trot.

Don't give up on your writing. Just start writing what you see, feel, hear, taste, smell, and know. If you see humor in something, write it in your own words. You can't assume that someone else reading your words won't laugh too.

I saw that little pheasant saying "whoops'..."whoops" when the wind hurried it along perhaps a little faster than it was used to. That what I got out of what you wrote. I enjoyed the mental image. :)~Ames

You have the gift of observation which is so essential in a writer. As to dogs, one told me once that with four legs they can walk any way they want to.

Was it carrying a shopping bag? And was it holding on to its hat? Running for a bus perhaps?

I haven't seen a pheasant run but I would love to see it.

I know what you mean about the blogging. It is not an effortless exercise for me. Sometimes I get to the point in a rather meandering fashion. I envy people who can just sit down and type away madly then come up with something brilliant. I am always cutting and pasting and slashing to get to my point. Sheesh.

Jack Russells are so cute. I've seen them do that. It is so jolly, isn't it? They're like little cartoon dogs!
