The Good Girl - Three Word Wednesday

Three Word Wednesday where you write something using the three prompt words.
This week's words are  ... Dare, Essence and Practical.

She was always described as the practical one, the quiet one, in essence 'the good girl'.
No-one ever really noticed her, she liked it that way.
Until that summer when the heat seemed to to be sending everyone a little crazy.
The dare was always there, the dare that nobody would ever take.
But that summer, in the heat, she did it ... and no-one ever called her the good girl again.

How many essentially good girls have gone the way of yours? Many, I dare say. After all, it is more practical in this modern day. :-)

Never trust the quiet ones..they are a balloon full of repression and angst ready to explode..I wonder what she did..hmm...great tale..Jae

Nicely written, tantalizingly obscure.
I wonder what the devil she did!

Not saying what she did makes it even better. Everyone has their own idea of what it was and we "good" people don't shock ourselves too much.

I'm all agog to know what she dared to do;-)
Nice use of the prompts.

Ha, I was a "good girl," not by choice... no one dug me! This was short and sweet and I loved the conclusion... only nowadays more than even, I hope "Mr. Raincoat" was in da house!

Thanks, Deborah,

I really like this and by not giving away what she did, every one has to draw their own conclusions. It would be very telling to see what 'thing' people thought she did! Nice one. :-)

Good on her. We all have the need to do something really quirky once in a while. What's the point of saying when you are old and grey. "I wish I had..."

As for being good or bad that is all relative.

Hum...makes you ponder as to what happen. Good job!

You have written it beautifully and have left enough space for the reader to imagine what would have she done?

Very nice... Though it does leave me a bit curious about what no one else dared to do.

Funny how no one considers that we "good girls" might just be biding our time. :-)

Nicely done.

You managed that very deftly, well done. But now we need the rest of the story, please!

Oh yes indeed this was a fun and yummie. I can only speculate but if you know any bit about me I was in the gutter the moment you said "No-one ever really noticed her, she liked it that way"

I am sure she did lol.

Well that opens the imagination wide!

This is so clever. The good girl often is maligned as much as the bad girl. Love how the heat ignites her behaviour. Very well done!
