The Boob Gene!

My daughter informed me yesterday that she was sooo glad she hadn't inherited my boob gene.

After observing her place her bra on her bust as opposed to my morning round up in an effort to secure mine into their hammocks, I wasn't overly surprised.

She then asked if I could I ever remember being flat chested.

"Easy," I answered, "the last time I layed on my back."

"No Mum, not when they disappear under your arms! At what age?"

"Oh, you mean ..."

"You know what I mean - when?"

It was tricky casting my mind back that far, but I told her that I did distinctly remember thinking about bandages a lot and dreading sports day in my middle school.

That seemed to answer her question, and so the conversation progressed.

"Apparently," she continued, intimating a question, "according to some famous model you can gauge the size of your bust by how many pencils you can 'hold' under them."

She looked at me expectantly.

"Huh, a pencil!" I scoffed.

I shook my head and told her that if ever it was needed, I was sure I could secure a small child under mine without too much trouble.

"Exactly!" she said, eyeing her pert frontage and heading to the kitchen  to make a cup of tea.

As I watched her exit the room, I felt a warm glow.

"Mmmm...." I thought.

"I do so love our little mother and daughter chats!"

Ah yes, the ancient art of 'boob wrangling' I am familiar with that of which you speak! LOL

A small child! . . . I raise you, a small child holding a relatively large rabbit! LOL

Great, thanks for making me laugh. It is good to see you back. ;-)

LOLOL too funny.
I have chats like this with my 15 year old mini monster.
She keeps asking me when hers will grow. I said don't be too keen in time if they get as big as mine you'll wish you hadn't wished so hard! LOL
A very enjoyable read, thanks and, thanks for your note to me, too.

Very funny:-) There are things I'm glad my children haven't inherited - my mother-in-law's nose, for one. It hasn't appeared in any of the grandchildren either - so far.

My mother told me I inherited the boob gene from my father.
I was grateful I wasn't my brother, though.
He inherited the "jackass" gene.

And, yet, I'm mildly titillated (NOTE: Clever use of the English language) by this post.

Putting pencils under the boobs to see how big they are? I would but I might loose a few under there. And besides, she's young meaning they should be up and perky. Or is that why they use little objects like pencils instead of larger objects like broom handles....

I can remember a time when I wished I had boobs and asked God for boobs. ...Be careful what you ask for! Now I think to myself everyday.. "sure wish I didn't have these boobs!" I am tired of the uncomfortable "over the shoulder boulder holder holders" and would love to go braless again. That hasn't happened since ????? 1974. Oh my. Now I am depressed. Your daughter will probably grow boobs overnight like I did when she hit's 40. And when I showed up on my daughters door step one summer for a visit, she accussed me of getting a boob job. Boobs. Blessing or curse?~Ames

You had me choking on my morning tea with this one, Deborah, and I'm sure it's going to keep me grinning all day!! I know I'll be picturing every large-breasted woman I see with a small child tucked under there...LOL! And I think Susannah's 'boob wrangling' deserves to become part of our lexicon.

Thanks for a lovely start to the day...:)

One should never underestimate the power of the woman who can hold a small child under one boob. Think of the possibilities for multi-tasking. Women and their boobs should rule the world!

This was the best reading I had today.
We were in a hotel pool once, and a woman came in with the biggest boobs my family and motherinlaw have ever seen. In the elevator going up I looked at my 12 year old and said, "don't worry, they'll never get that big." and she looked very relieved.

I can soooo relate!

I don't need a bra that lifts and seperates.

I need one that divides and conquers.

That pencil under the bust was nothing to do with size as far as I remember, but with firmness.

I tried in days long ago.
