Time for Walkies!

My Mum has a tooth missing and a denture which she hates, so only ever wears it when she leaves the house.

She also has two lovely dogs, Tasha and Tamba.

...and?  I hear you ask.

Well.

Anybody who has a dog will know they have their 'signal' for when it's time for walkies, usually the picking up of their lead at which they will get super duper excited.

My Mum's dogs are no exception.

Only their 'signal' for walkies is .... the tooth!

Whenever my Mum picks it up, they're up, tails wagging, snorting and heading for the door.

It really makes me smile to see their little faces light up at the sight of it.

I can just imagine them excitedly geeing each other up with, "Come on!
she's got the tooth, SHE'S GOT THE TOOTH!!"

My dog's signal that he needs to go out:
He starts peeing on my leg.
Kinda gross, but pretty effective.

That is so cute. I love the quirkiness of it. 'She's got the tooth. She's got the tooth!'

At least she wears the tooth when she goes out! My mom was missing her front, top tooth. She had several dentures made for that tooth but she hated them all. Hated them to the point, she never wore them. I loved my mom but it made me shake my head that she would walk around in public, missing that tooth...
But your story reminds me of a teacher I work with. She has a denture for her front teeth. Her mom's dog likes to eat it, and has chewed on it several times....

So funny. If your mom ever gets that tooth fixed so that it's comfortable to leave in all the time, the dogs will have to be retrained.

Well, those dogs would hate to be seen put walking with someone with a missing tooth, wouldn't they?

Does she ever go out without them? The dogs I mean? How disappointed are they when they can't come?

Deborah said...

She takes them everywhere with her Friko, so they're never disappointed, hence the excitemnet of the tooth! LOL
Thanks for stopping by x :o)

Hahaha! That's so funny! So, my grandpa had dentures, and they didn't fit well, so after a meal he would sit back in his chair and take out his teeth (bottom especially) and procees to lick run his finger and/or tongue over the gum surface. I was about 9 before I realized this was not cool with Miss Manners.
